About the Class: Do you love letterpress printing and have always wanted to know how it works and what’s involved? This is the class for you! In this class for beginners (or people who are a little familiar with the antique printing process), you’ll learn the basics of letterpress printing including the general mechanics of platen presses, inking and setting up a press so that its ready to print, and the basics of photopolymer plates and printing with a photopolymer plate.
Takeaways: Set of 100 custom business/calling cards OR 50 note cards printed with a photopolymer plate. You will be able to select one of the designs shown (all cards will be printed with 1 color selected by the class participants). No variations or changes to the design itself. Additional text lines may be allowed, please inquire.
-Your own design maybe used, please submit for approval (we just want to make sure it is a design that is suited to letterpress technology and appropriately sized).
-All materials (plates, paper, envelopes, cutting, etc.) are included in class cost.
To Sign-Up: Select the date you would like to participate and make your purchase. Once purchased, and payment has been received, you will receive an email confirming your registration and directions to the studio. You will also be asked to select your design and text for your custom cards. You will then be sent a proof of your plate for the class. Designs must be finalized 1 week prior to your class.
