ABOUT THE PRESS
Each of our items are designed and printed in Seattle by our artisan printers on a 1920s Chandler and Price printing press. We combine artistry, luxury paper, and vintage techniques to craft the finest stationery for your enjoyment.
Tutta Lou Press was conceived by architect Sarah Rollinger in the fall of 2009. After months of searching for the perfect letterpress, she serendipitously discovered a vintage die-press in her uncle’s garage. He was generously willing to part with the die-press and Tutta Lou Press was one-step closer to creating beautiful ephemera. The press was missing several parts and unable to print when it arrived in Seattle. Parts for the press were painstakingly sourced from all over the country, coming off of dismantled and dilapidated presses and out of junkyards. Finally, our beloved press was ready to print fine letterpress to be enjoyed by you.
ABOUT THE GIRL
All my life I have enjoyed creating, whether it be baking, sewing, cooking or refinishing furniture, the simple pleasures of life have been mine to share with family and friends. With a background in architecture and design, I started Tutta Lou Press because I wanted to create simple luxuries for others with an emphasis of creating a handmade yet professional-quality product.
For me, the impression a printing-plate pressed into paper leaves behind is one of the most beautiful and simple things in the world. My designs are simple and playful; urban living, architecture, lines, vintage ephemera, typography, and flora and fauna inspire my designs.
